During the February cold snap the freezer stopped holding overnight. The evaporator fan motor was dragging and close to stalling. Replaced that morning, and he checked the second compressor as well.

Production fell right off after we changed the filter ourselves. Air trapped in the line, as it turned out. He purged it properly and checked the inlet screen, which had picked up grit from old building pipe.

Our kitchen off Brattle Street used to be a pantry, so the column sits in a box with no side clearance at all. He worked entirely from the front instead of dragging it out, found a shorted defrost thermistor, and left the old paintwork unmarked.
